What Causes Spider Veins?

Spider veins, commonly found on the face and legs, are caused by the dilation of a small group of blood vessels near the skin's surface. They often look like red, blue or purple lines. When they occur on the face these spider veins, also called telangiectasias, may be related to chronic sun exposure or exposure to extremes of temperature. They tend to occur on either the nose or cheeks.

Many physicians use a hypertonic saline solution for sclerosing spider veins. This is a more painful and less effective solution for treating veins. We offer the latest treatments available for effective and safe spider vein removal.

How do We Remove Veins?

Cutera Cool Touch® lasers allows us to give you the safest most effective treatment. We use longer wavelength lasers for larger deeper veins and a shorter wavelength laser for smaller more superficial veins. The laser treatment works by passing light through the skin heating up the blood in the vessel causing thermocoagulation of the vessel. The clogged vessel is then slowly absorbed by the body.

Our clients are usually very surprised how easy it was to remove their spider veins. This is especially true for facial veins. After your treatment you will be red from a few hours to a couple of days and may have some swelling which can last up to 5 days.
